This project was a full open-concept basement remodel. It consisted of a living room, bedroom, kitchen and 3-piece bathroom with stand-up shower. It included some cool features such as pocket doors and a barn door to maximize space along with a moveable kitchen island, perfect for entertaining. We also incorporated a feature wall with a sleek gas fireplace.
Contractor, designer, client…Synergy and cohesiveness are critical between these 3 for any size renovation/remodel. On this project, we achieved just that. This was a full main floor renovation, which is one of our favourite kinds of projects. We knew this was going to be interesting from the get-go. Everything from the ceiling to the floor was demolished. This remodel included installing engineered beams to custom two-toned kitchen cabinets and a whole lot in between. One of our favourites to date!
Proud of this one! We began this project just before the global pandemic hit. We were challenged with material shortages, long line-ups and so much uncertainty. Despite all the challenges we were able to complete the project on time which we were quite thankful for. Going in we knew our client’s style and they were admittedly a little fastidious. So, we kept it clean, clean, clean! We spent quite a bit of time figuring out the perfect layout. We relocated the mechanical and laundry room, added a powder room, extended the storage area and was still able to end up with additional living space. Memorable project for sure!
Resale was the name of the game for this project. Being fully aware everyone has different styles and tastes we believed the safest bet was to keep it clean, simple and neutral. Secondly, we asked the client “what would you change or add if you were planning to keep the house?. We then made the changes/additions and the results turned out great. Our client wished they had done the renovations earlier so they could have enjoyed the new space before selling.
This project was completed for a long-time childhood friend who basically said “Here’s my budget, the property will be up for sale in 6 weeks, call me when you’re done.” With that said, we went ahead and decided to do a complete gut of the kitchen and bathroom. We also removed all the carpet on the second floor and replaced it with all new laminate floors. New oak handrails with new carpet on the stair treads were added to spruce up the staircase. We kept it clean and modest and brought some much-needed life into a once dull 3-bedroom, 1.5 bath home while keeping within the budget. We are pleased to say the house was SOLD and both the seller & buyer were pleased.
The husband decided to give wife/mother of 3 her own little oasis. So we transformed the basement into just that! We removed the existing wood panels, vinyl floors and dated light fixtures. We added a 3 piece bathroom, home gym, movie room and cladded the stairs with new oak treads and risers. The finishes we choose were simple but elegant. This space is a work in progress as there are plans in the future to add a wet bar as well as a laundry room upgrade. Perfect spot for some alone time!
This basement was already partially finished and was originally set up as a recreation/games room space. Our mission was to change the function to a clean and simple In-Law suite. We added a full kitchen bedroom, erected a few partition walls, added closets for storage, relocated the recessed lighting and added new floors throughout. Goodbye games room…Hello In-law Suite!!
Another full basement remodel project. The personality of the client was shown all over this one. They sacrificed a bathroom in order to gain a larger laundry room space. The laundry room space included custom cabinets and a glass backsplash. We installed a custom barn door and laminate floor throughout. The client also wanted all the interior doors to have the touch open & close feature (no handles) and once again we delivered!
